Girl child expectant mothers and HIV/AIDS

One of the conclusions of the Situation analysis conducted t that when girl child expectant mothers go for antenatal clinic they are tested for HIV/AIDS but on discovering there HIV status do not opt for ARV prophylaxis to stop mother to child transmission and to improve their own health, as a result, they are lost in care and treatment.

Africa Women Filmmakers Trust, funds available, proposes conducting further research to find out why the girl child expectant mothers are lost in care and treatment. This will be followed by a media campaign addressing issues arising in the research.
